What We DoThe USC Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy faculty, staff and students strive to help people of all ages and all circumstances live their lives to the fullest in the best of times and the worst of times. We want those with limitations to overcome them and reach their potential and for individuals plagued by illness or disability to achieve their highest possible quality of life. We design strategies for better living for people from the moment we enter their lives. We build on data, science-based tools, and experience to address and overcome physical, psychological, emotional, and social issues that prevent people from achieving their goals or which could spiral out of control, dragging them down. We develop strategies and customized environments to help those who have suffered severe life reversals to make their way back to a better quality of life and maximize their potential in their everyday lives. Also we are committed to pushing the boundaries of research, training the next generation of leaders in the field, and to enabling people to flourish every day. To these ends we strive to encourage our students, scholars, and practitioners to collaborate to extend our innovative research and to encourage our leading-edge teaching programs. We also remain firmly focused on helping individuals live their lives, develop their skills, adjust their environments, and promote healthy habits and routines. USC established the first graduate programs in occupational therapy and occupational science and is consistently rated at the top of the field. USC offers more programs, more degree combinations, and more advanced clinical practice courses than any other institution. Join us in striving to for a better life for everybody, one person at a time. |
