Ways for USC Students to Learn More About Occupational Therapy

Students interested in further exploring the field of Occupational Therapy or who seek a basic introduction to Occupational Science can:

Attend an Admission Information Session

Enroll in Introduction to Occupational Therapy Studies (OT 220)

Occupational therapy is all about life, and in this course you will discover strategies that enable you to be the person you want to be. This class will help you make the most of your college life and learn how to manage time, stay healthy and combat weight gain. You will learn how to create a healthy living environment to maximize your potential. You will also discover how you can help others redesign their lives as an occupational therapist. This course is not available for major or minor credit. (2 units)

Enroll in Introduction to Occupational Therapy and Occupational Science (OT 250)

We all know that life matters. Less understood are the ways in which our choices shape who we become and how healthy we are. This course provides a multidisciplinary perspective through which you can better navigate your own life. Develop your expertise in life design – beginning with your own. This course is available for minor credit. (4 units)

Participate in USC’s Pre-OT Club

Membership in the Pre-OT Club is available to all USC undergraduate students who are interested in learning more about the field of occupational therapy.

Receive Student Advisement

If you are considering an OT major, advisors are available several hours each week to meet with you. The Division of Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy is located on the Health Sciences Campus, but also maintains office hours on the University Park Campus.
