Biography
Dr. Celso Delgado, Jr. serves as an appointed faculty at USC's University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities (UCEDD) at Children's Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA). Dr. Delgado's role is to integrate and provide mental health occupational therapy services in the Full Service Partnership (FSP) program of UCEDD, which is a model designed to benefit children and families experiencing significant emotional, psychological, or behavioral challenges that interfere with their well being.
Dr. Delgado is also a clinical instructor of the Mental Health Practice Immersion in the Division's newly redesigned entry-level professional educational program. He has primarily provided occupational therapy services within the community serving at-risk populations. He also has experience as an interverner providing Lifestyle Redesign® intervention in Spanish and English to people with spinal cord injuries at-risk of developing pressure ulcers through USC's Pressure Ulcer Prevention Study (PUPS), a research program funded by the National Institute of Health (NIH). Dr. Delgado has also worked at Occupational Therapy Training Program (OTTP) in Torrance, California, where he provided occupation-based intervention for at-risk youth and families throughout the Greater Los Angeles area labeled with metal health illnesses.
