Biography

Samia Rafeedie received her BS in occupational therapy from The Ohio State University (OSU) in Columbus, Ohio. She worked as a staff occupational therapist for three years before pursuing her MA from the University of Southern California (USC). Samia continued to grow her interest in higher education and occupational science by obtaining an Occupational Therapy Doctorate (OTD) degree from USC, with a focus on occupational therapy education and adult learning. Dr. Rafeedie then moved to Maryland, where she became a part-time faculty member at Towson University and managed an 18-bed adult inpatient rehabilitation unit near Washington, D.C. She is currently teaching in the first year of the masters program at USC, and supports evidence-based practice at Keck Hospital of USC, as well as developing and enhancing occupational therapy evaluations and documentation. Dr. Rafeedie currently acts as co-advisor for the Division's OTSC student organization, and serves the Occupational Therapy Association of California in several capacities.
