University of Southern California
Division of Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy

How Your Support Helps

Your gift to the USC Division of Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy pays extraordinary academic and societal dividends.  Whether it’s in the classroom, the laboratory, the hospital and clinic or in the community, students, faculty, and alumni share high ideals and a powerful commitment to make a difference in the lives of those around us.  We invite our alumni, friends and supporters - individuals, corporations, foundations, and nonprofit patrons of education and research - to join us in building on excellence.  We are exceptional stewards of the funds entrusted to us, and are faithful to the high purposes the university brings to Southern California, the United States, and the world.

Directed gifts allow you to designate your gift to a specific area of practice, program or project within the Division of Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy. Your donation can be used toward endowing faculty positions, space, technology and equipment or for student scholarships.

  • Pediatrics
  • Rehabilitation
  • Mental Health
  • Advocacy and Access to Health Care
  • Programs for Returning Veterans
  • Sensory Integration Education and Research
  • Executive Health and Wellness
  • Healthy Aging

Unrestricted gifts allow the Division to allocate funds wherever the need is greatest and to take advantage of unique opportunities as they arise. Your contribution may be used to support costs associated with financial aid, innovations in teaching, dissemination and publication of research, equipment, facilities and much more.

Endowments allow individuals, foundations and corporations to create a named, endowed fund designated for a specific purpose in the Division of Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy.  The principal is invested in the USC endowment and is expected to accrue interest each year.  After the second year, 5% of the funds will be used each year thereafter to fund the specific program, scholarship, fellowship or faculty position.

In-Kind gifts allow individuals to give tangible gifts and services directly to the Division. Examples include underwriting the printing costs of dissemination of occupational science and occupational therapy materials to the community, technology, toys and equipment, items for silent auctions, underwriting events, and provision of airline frequent flier miles to support faculty and student global connections.
