Redesigning Lives. The Future of Healthcare

Patient Care

Clinical Faculty in Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy at USC

At USC we are dedicated to training and educating future occupational therapists to be client-centered and innovative in their care for patients. To be client-centered means to take into consideration the best interests of our patients; to incorporate their values, habits, preferences, and environment into our care. We equip students with a solid foundation in the medical and social sciences, the ethics of healthcare, a strong sense of accountability and the highest degree of professionalism.

The USC Occupational Therapy Faculty Practice, Inc. and the University Hospital
It is possible to arrange an internship in these two clinical practices overseen by the Division. USC has always been known as a leader in the development of cutting edge theory for occupational therapy. But what is less known is that in 1993, the Division established the USC Occupational Therapy Faculty Practice, Inc., where we now provide patient care and incubate state-of-the-art interventions. Today, the practice provides Lifestyle Redesign interventions in areas such as bariatrics and obesity, USC student mental health/supportive services, pain management, wellness and executive health. The Practice also oversees provision of acute occupational therapy care at the USC University Hospital with a special focus on lymphedema care, post-operative interventions and mental health.
